No I mean, when you get a halfcut sent out to someone, do they just weld everything back together? How would they rebuild say, a skyline?

skylines , usually we do weld them back together so they become toys in the drift and drag scene , joined chassis would not be permitted on the roads :D thus most RB25 , RB26's go into Nissan Cefiro's and old school cars. Skyline owners that have blown their engines take them as replacements too.
 
I see all these motors and I think to myself "Wonder how long before they are all gone?"

hehehe hope Slowboy or Buschur does to China and start manufacturing blocks for us :p

im a sinner , i broke many 4g63's and just threw them away without going with oversized pistons :p , those were the times where 6bolt blocks were going for $150 :cool: , they are now double in price , looks like wiseco's have become our priority after blowing the stock blocks. The main reason we do not go forged is because our Engineering shops arent that accurate and some do not even know how to read the Manual for clearance & piston ring gapping , but of cos labour is cheap over here , bring down a gearbox and changing to a new clutch only cost $40 :p , doing rebore for a 4 cylinder block cost around $50 :D
 
Its crazy how they throw them away with the intercooler attached, the wing and the body kit. If that was here we would only throw away the frame , and make sure the whole car has been tore downLOL
 
Man I bet I can find some used JDM Galant knuckles for the Brembos cheap. Next time my dad goes to Malaysia, I'm tagging along.

oh man, i throw dat knuckle away jz to ditch out that twin pot caliper with de rotor as well..:D
 
Throttle Body wise , the 1G has the 60mm over in the US, its cousin vr4 has only a 54mm Throttle while all the evo's do have 60mm TBs

I always thought the jdm 6bolt throttle body was 60mm?

Are the evo 3 brakes bigger the then the 2g? and will they bolt up?

I got one of those hks twin plate clutches in my jdm engine/trans combo i bought.:D I guess i got pretty lucky.

By the way, how much do those twin plate clutches go for?
 
I imported a motor through UNitex Trading Corp in Texas and i got it right off the truck from the shopyard and it has one hell of a port job on it. It's a 1.6l marking but was on a 2.0 4g63.. i've hear they have smaller combustion chambers but that's it. The cams look nice but i can't tell what they are and haven't mic'ed them out or anything.
but the thing that gets me is the port job.. it looks great IMO opened up nice and huge, but what makes is look like a pro did it is that everything down to the volume and shape of the dividers and bowl areas are perfectly matched to each other.

is there anythign you could tell me about this head from info i could get off of it or it's cams?????

be cool to learn some history on it as i'm running it on my race motor build that i
m working on having done by january 09 installed
 
very nice. you get lucky some times with jdm clips.
my evo III clip came with

hks rods
cusco front lsd
cusco center lsd
the rear end also had a cusco lsd
exedy fly and 3 puck clutch (was taken out for a qm twin disk)

hks bov
it was 2400 shipped for the front clip,rear end and prop-shaft
