Chirping 2nd in a 2G NT?

Going from a modded 1G turbo awd to a barely stock 2G NT fwd I thought id be finally getting my tires loose in 2nd, even with alot less power .. but NO. I think its odd why I cant even chirp 2nd gear at all, I know its slow as a dog, but why anyone?

drop the clutch from 6,000 rpm and she'll let loose

as for chirping, if you shift fast enough, i'm sure you can do it. just be aware that some tires don't chirp at all, so it also depends on the tires you have.

Could possibly be a transmission problem. I used to not be able to chirp second because the teeth on my second gear were bad.

I can just about always chirp second, all i gotta do is shift at 6K and CHIRP she goes

My mods help that somewhat, a stock N/T would have problems doing that.

Completely stock 96 n/t here. I can chirp tires at about 5k. Not much trouble, brand new clutch thou, migh help.

Well I just got done replacing the trans fluid, and it doesnt seem to be silver color like the gears were grinded nor a hint noticed its just real dark from typical wear.

Only time I;ve actually chirp 2nd in my surprise was when i was during cornering at an intersection from flamingo rd. into The Strip here in Vegas 1-2 shift @5.5-6k rpms

Probably from someone trying to show the whole world just how poor they are at manipulating a manual gearbox by "chirping" the tire.

Chirping has nothing to do with performance.

If you are keen to make barking chihuahua noises with a car, get one that doesn't have the weight of the entire driveline over the traction wheels. Or, start reading the Clutch Replacement and Transmission Rebuilding threads.
