someone backed into me today and put about a 3 inch wide 1/4 inch deep dent in my hood and about a 2 inch scratch in my bumper, do you think it would be cheaper for me to just get a carbon fiber hood since i was planning on getting one anyways? like using some of the money from the person who hit me and paying the difference for it?

I bought my car with a 4" by 4" dent in my hood. I'm picking up a VIS CF G speed hood in 2 weeks. I doesn't make sense to buy a used OEM hood for $100 (sold around that price) and then later by a fiberglass or CF hood.

ok right now i am lookin at the vis racing extreme gt cf hood, anybody know about a price on one of these? and would i have to worry about rain or snow etc gettin in the vents and causing damage?

if this doesn't sound ridiculous i don't know what does. a girl ran into me a few weeks ago, anyways the body shop quoted me the price of a new hood (550 bucks!!!) plus paint and prepping....so i told her insurance i am supplying my own hood (CF). theyre sending me a check for about 700 bucks for a hood that cost me 450. thats a nice payment towards a turbo haha.

so, if you were going to get one down the road, just get it now.

im going through the same thing right now, my hood would somtimes look like its latched but would come undone, so my hood flew up and smashed my window and my roof, the estimate was around 700 to 1,200. rediculous so i decided to get out the old rubber hammer and fixed the roof then i ordered a cf hood from www.eccmotorsports.com expect 3 or 4 weeks for it to get to you but its worth it if you like the oem look but cf. i ended up paying just 350 total for the hood and shipping. awsome deal

just got the hood in yesterday and it looks beutiful ill be posting pics of it in my profile later. took forever but for quality and price i didnt complain

twack- make sure you get the hood clear coated. Alot of guys on the site recommend doing so as it'll ensure the look of the hood doesn't fade from the sun, etc. Anyways, good luck with the hood.

Another highly recommended investment towards the CF hood is hood pins!

put the hood pins on first thing , cause the latch was the reason that i needed the new hood. i think i want to get it clear coated how much that cost
