I'm needing a good tune, for cheap. I'm gonna be running around 27psi. ordering my crank, rods, pistons, and valves soon. I know these cars need their fuel. I think thats what i was lacking when the rod got sent through y block with stock internals on 22psi ;p anyways, i need a good a/f controller or something. Whts a good / cheap brand that will get the job done? thanks!:thumb:

Good. I know I can reach my goal pretty easy. I just need to get my fuel and air right first. I have everything else figured out for the most part. Are any of the intake they have worth a crap? Thats something i have yet to decide on.

Don't forget using ECUFlash and EvoScan. It is an even cheaper alternative and we now have at least 6 cars around us using the 2g flashable ECUs on rebuilt 1g harnesses and using the tuning concepts in Merlin's EVO 7, 8, 9 tuning guide.

It is just as powerful as anything out there however the wealth of knowledge is not as large as Link and it is not as user friendly and requires a bit more knowledge to get started.

Do not think cheap and tuning. Honestly, now that I know what I know I would have never done SAFC and all the other crap. I would have went straight to tuning and logging since it is one if the best upgrades you can make.

This is like saying I want to buy a cheap daily carry weapon. Why bother if you cannot depend on it and normally cheap and dependable to do not exist together.

Yeah you hve a good point there. I still think I will stick with the link, or id run the aem LOL. I can get the aem from a guy for just over 500, but i will want something that more people on here know about. If I have a problem it would be nice to get help that day LOL. What do you guys think about the manley rods? That's the brand i decided to go with. Considering a stock rod went through my block and ruined everything, I'm going to prevent that every way I can.

I would think the manley rod would take all you can throw at it. I mean, i would do some research on it first, obviously, if you are talking 600+ whp levels. Remember: Overbuild it, never underbuild. Always a good idea!
That EMS for 500 is a good deal for sure. Tempting but be ready for some extra seat time at the desk while you research how to wire it/tune it. Also, the V1 differs from the V2 but i dont know exactly how. Look into that as well. Google

WAYYYYY more people use link. EMS is nice and all, but the DSM game is about budget builds most of the time, so DSM link's easy to use wiki as well as the pure wealth of knowledge just on this site alone is worth the $600 price tag. Better than paying $750 for a used EMS V1 and having maybe 5 people on this site that actually know anything about the EMS and its different layout. You'll most likely be kicking yourself if/when you have an issue and post up an AEM EMS log and no one on here can read it. You'd be saving yourself a huge headache just going with Link.

That right there is why I bought link. The support for link is huge. If you do get link, and I suggest it, you will have (*free*) endless expert tech support on this and ECMlink's own forum. Most of all, you don't need AEM to achieve your goals.

You sent a stock rod through your motor cause for some reason or another you thought it would be a good idea to run that much boost without a way to tune.

This whole thread makes me wanna puke. Do some research for yourself and dont just buy whatever people tell you to get.

yeah I know. It was time for the motor to go. It was knocking at the tie and we decided to kill it. funny thing is that it took a month or 2 to kill it. solid motors. I was going to sell it, but i know how mean it was for being mostly stock give me ambition to build it. I KNOW i need a tune. That's covered now. Thank you guys!

No I do not. Have arfm will get.what should it read. And no one around hear knows how to use link.If I did I would get.I don't want to have problems with this Dsm.Any tips
huh? I want to help but i don't understand what your asking.

Ok i think you mean AFPR (adjustable fuel pressure regulator) with a higher volume fuel pump you need this to tune your fuel pressure down to stock (43 psi).

Yeah i was a bit confused too. Now that we are all on the same page, we can help!

The tune is probably the most important step in the build process; I'd be concerned about investing a lot of money into your car and boosting at a high level and not doing a quality tune. I had my car tuned for 20psi with dsmlink v3 by a reputable shop and was very pleased with the performance yield. If you are ever near Addison, IL, I'd highly recommend Boostin' Performance for any questions related to tuning.
