Cheap boost fix? or just plain dumb?

I'm taking my car to the track for a school event next weekend.
I was wondering if i disconnected the stock boost controller, and let the turbo run un restricted, in theory (or mine anyway) would it not increase in boost? :dsm:

if by stock boost controller you mean the bcs (boost control solenoid), then by disconnecting it, you should run infinite boost, destroying the turbo, i forgot to hook up the vac line onto the turbo itself and i maxed out my gauge at 30psi before i stopped the car, and plugged the vac line back in. It went back to 14psi as usual. If you want to control the boost, get a boost controller   ... you can get a cheap one for like $20 and control it as much as you like within the constraints of your actuator

and p.s. what is wrong with your boost that you are trying to control it so badly?

kyle,
he wants to impress all the hot b*tches at school with his infinite amount of boost on his t25.. come on now ! WTF ROFL

ok to contribute, iboostdoyou is right. it will allow you to run an infinite amount of boost, most likely take your turbo out, and in most cases, lean your car out so bad that it will blow up from detonation.

that's real cool for the whole school to see :rocks:

nicely worded tom,
Yea you dont want to blow your turbo on the track or just in general, its no good. And I've noticed youve been a registered member since march 2003 and you dont have a boost controller yet?

well as for a boost controller... well im married, so theres my money pit!! and i figured that would ###### max the turbo out... so thanx for the heads up.

Uncork the waste gate, make a couple runs. You'll be fine. I've had friends do it on a 1g with the stock 14b. It's bad for the car but a couple passes won't destroy it. If you want to be safer just goto autozone and get some vac tees. Throw one between the wastegate and the intercooler pipe. You'll hit around 16 dependant on how big the tee is.

The stupidity level in this thread is too much.

get a damn boost controller. thats all there is to it.

yea no ghetto modding. I picked one up for $20 used, works great. Check your local dsm forum and i'm sure you can find something you can pick up later on today :thumb:
