Hiya guys...Ok I have been having a slight drip comming outta the left side of my block and since there are no hoses in that area I knew it was time to change the pump....I made sure she never went dry and was real easy driving.Well early this week I get all the stuff I need(belts,pump,ect.).I drive home from work and as Im at the gas station waiting to fuel up this squeeling from hell started comming from all around me-Then The smoke ROLLS outta the hood.I couldnt belive a belt could produce that kinda cloud. My dash lights up like a christmas tree, then the RPM's start to climb-from 1000 to about 3500 all in about 10 seconds timeframe.I turned It off and pushed it home(only 2 blocks).Well,Here is what bothers me.After taking the pullys off and the timing cover I noticed a few things. The Timing belt has got a nice "Line" down it and a Mysterious "Hole" down by the timing marks. Those wernt there a month ago.Nothing fell out of the cover when I took it off.I am going to replace the pump and belts,is there anything else I should replace because of this?

Thats the second picture like that in the forums today. The other one was due to one of the oil pan bolts being to long and gouging out the belt. Yours looks identical.

judging from the other post with a similar pic of a gouged timing belt.... There are two shorter bolts for the oil pan that need to go in the two holes that are under the timing belt. If you put the shorter bolts in the longer holes and the longer ones near the timing belt, they will bite into the belt.

At least thats what I gather'd from the last post like this... =)

Thanks guys-I'll look into those bolts.Going to remove balence shafts, change water pump, timing belt, fix those bolts, and put a new head gasket on for good measures :) Appreciate the help.

It might be oil-pump sprocket nut that flew out. It come loose and bust out of housing. Good luck:coy:
