Im thinking about buying cams and valve springs for the car. I know I can chang e the cams no problem but what about the valve springs?I dont wnat to remove the head because I just put it together :p any ideas how I can do that, maybe there is some wierdf specialty tool?

Yeah, there is a tool that works while the head is on the car. I'm not sure who makes it (snap-on maybe?). It just bolts to the head and has a bar running across to pry against.

Especially the part about feeding string into the cylinders to prevent the valves from dropping into the cylinders.

Link was dead for me.

I am not sure if it will work with our style head but many companies, like Matco and SnapOn, make a tool to fill the chamber with compressed air. The air will keep the valves in place, but I am not sure if it will fit down in our head. You will need a good size compressor so that your air supply, not the band, doesn't run short.

anyone know were to get that tool? cause that would be great to have...

Took me a minute becasue I didn't know what it was called. I didn't even think about it, but it actualy looks like just the hose end of a compression tester.

Here is the actual one that will work for our cars at the bottom of the page.

Or you could get a compression tester, great tool to have anyway, and just use the hose for this job. The first is a basic tester and the third is a fancy pants one.
