Changing out the ignition.

Well I got some pretty neat ideas going on in my brain, my nighbor complain he saw smoke from my ears.

I want to put in the ignition from a 2004 Audi A4, I like the key

So I was wondering how i would go about doing this?
I know I would need the Keyhole, the keys and the computer thingy that connects to the starter. Would I also need new door unlockers and a trunk popper? would I need the Audi alarm system? or can the key work with my current system?

What's wrong with your current lock system? I don't know of any DSMers that have replaced their lock system with a totally different car's system.

Whats wrong with it? Its pretty much the only thing left on my car that isnt well known to be customized. In fact I have never seen a dsm with a custom ignition, if there is one point it out please. And the fact that I only carry 2 keys on a keyring and I HATE keyrings I always like the switchblade keyrings.

If you can do it I might try as well. Seeing that I have a Dub I also love the switchblade. I'll let you hack your car up before I try anything though.

you would have to get into the lock mechanism and break it down. I don't know if the lock shaft are designed even near the same. Its one of those things you would be the first to accomplish I think but not without a lot of painful modifications
