2G Changing instrument cluster bulbs

Hey guys, I've searched the site, as well as Google, for over an hour now, and I keep finding wiring diagrams and other slightly more complicated things. What I'm looking for though is if I wanted to simply change the color or my instrument cluster, how would I do so? I didn't want to just start pulling things out of my cluster, so I'm checking here first. Is it as simple as removing the panels, and replacing the bulbs? The orange is just too dim, and clashes with the rest of the car and it bothers me. Is this a simply mod, or does it require rewiring the whole cluster? I'm sorry to sound so dumb, I've just never done anything like this before. Also, for the HVAC lights, do I have to remove the entire panel? I heard on another thread it was as simple as removing the buttons themselves. Is that true? I have a 99 Eclipse by the way. Thank you

The HVAC panel just pops out and you can access the bulbs from the back. Easiest way is to push the bottom of the vents all the way in and grab the lip at the bottom of the vent and pull.

This is a situation I've played with on my last DSM ('97 Spyder). I took all the gauge lights out and built my own lighted wire harness with red LEDs so that the needles would contrast the blue gauge faces. And then I. Did the same thing with my HVAC since I had a matching blue face plate. Then did my own harness again with blue LEDs for each button. All this was prior to finding the super bright led website. I've since looked over their site and this is the link for the gauge cluster lights: Super Bright LEDs - Instrument Cluster and Gauge Backlights

Go to the bottom and it's the T1.5 lights. The gauge lights are #74's. I still haven't found the right ones for the buttons yet though. Hope this helps.

Yes, that helped a lot, that you, but I have one quick question. Very simply, to change the cluster bulbs, so I simply remove the panel, pull out the existing bulbs, and put new ones in?
