I recently did a oil change on my "new" 99 gsx and now i have a very noticable tapping sound. I am wondering if its because i put Mobil 1 10w30 full synthetic in. I am sure that it had regular oil in before. Would this cause a problem?

Its pretty loud... I don't remember much before if any at all. Do you think Synthetic was a bad idea?

How long does it take for the oil to get dispensed everywhere it needs to in these engines. I only work about 2 miles from home. So my average drives are less than 5-10 min usually. Maybe its just not getting the oil good and hot. Anything longer than that and it seems to be gone.

i wouldn't recommend switching from synthetic back to regular.. maybe it's okay since you didn't run it long, but there is a really good page somewhere that I was shown that tells you everything you need to know about oil. I think it's called the "oil bible" or something. I have a tap to, i think it's pretty normal is dsm's, but can be fixed. hope this helps.
