The bare metal skeleton wieghed aprox. 33 lbs, the CF wieghs aprox. 13 lbs
The defroster still works, extended the ground wire to the otherside of the hatch. It is grounded into the ground wire in the harness for the 3rd brake light and wiper. With stock glass it is heavy and rigid enough to close on stock struts, and when hatch is released it opens itself.
Onto the pics:

Looks ok, is that the VIS? The gaps look uneven and the back looks too high. Still, I'm jealous.

Yanno, I've wondered about something similar for my car. :p But I'd love it if the wing was mad PART of the trunk so when everyone tries to open the truck, the wing won't rattle.

Looks great. Makes me like the wingless look a bit more. Might be going this route when my engine is done.

I bought the hatch off a member on here, couldnt find out the company which really annoyed me but whatever. The Rear latch had to be slotted and moved down quite a bit, I think to fix it anymore it needs shims at the top brakets. Since these pics were taken I actually swapped my center lense into a better housing. That housing was cracked and fit horrible, it stuck out and rubbed the hatch. Actually made that gap a bit smaller , and closes perfect with a better fitting center peice.
The drivers side is lower down, and even with the passengerside (look at third pic) since I fixed it.

jdm hotnezz! but seriously, it looks awesome. I've always wanted a carbon hatch so +1 to you sir!

Is it safe to run a CF hatch with the hatch struts tho? Doesn't put excess stress on it?

The glass was removed from my old hatch by a professional at the bodyshop that painted it for me. No idea what it weighs, I wasnt there to check.
And I m not really worried about the stress of the struts, it doesnt really flex so I m shure it ll be fine.

Painting the top section black makes all the difference in the world! Looks hot, flows really nice and looks discreet (if that makes sense) Don't think I'd care for it on a non-black car though...

Looks good, cuts down on weight, extends the lives of those precious stock struts. Being able to open itself is a plus, too. :hellyeah:
Now go burn up the little extra fuel that hatch affords you.

Looks awsome with the black, kinda makes me wanna put off my six bolt for a hatch and hood now :thumb:. its too bad shipping anything to canada is hell.

Wow i guess im the first one who doesnt like it... however it doesnt look that bad

Dude i loved your old pics you posted a while back i think when you got it lowered... Im a huge fan of the 2gb wing but i know to each their own...

Keep the wing tho, i guarantee you you'll be putting that bad boy on soon... :D

Looks good. Not a huge fan of the gap over the middle, but all in all, not bad at all.
