Ok so here is the deal I was on my way to school and my car started driving funny after a few pulls. When i drive it, it feals like the clutch is slipping but i know it is not. It feals like some one has there foot on the clutch pedal just enough to make it slip up to 4-5 grand then it is ok in upper rpms 5k+. The last time i had a problem like this it was because of my PS constant velocity shaft had popped out just enough to not hit any splines in the tranny it felt like the clutch was slipping way bad. Now I checked the cv shafts and they all look fine and snapped into the tranny.I put the car up on 4 jack stands and started it in first. all the wheels were turning except the ps front was kinda skipping it would slow down and skip around. Also you can sit in first gear with the clutch out and foot on the break and the car shakes like it wants to die but it dosnt ,it will act like your foot is half way on the clutch This is making me angry because this is on a Brand new shep trans stage two i installed a month ago. The clutch is an ACT 2900 with a SBR 4500 PP and everything was working grate until today!!! Please I need to figure out what is wrong. What could it be the center diff T case? What could i do to help diagnose the problem . Does any one know if shep trans come with warranty?

so the center diff drives the front two wheels? so if i stop one the other should kick in and if its up in the air only one should move in gear? Talking about the front two wheels whale the car is on jack stands????

here is a vid of what im talking about

I don't get it, 2900 refers to the clamping force of the pressure plate, 2900lbs, but you say you're using a 4500 pressure plate from SBR, so is it an act street disc you are using then?

correct!
sorry should of been more clear. I do believe the diff is stock... Its crazy because it dosent click or make any noises or anything like when others clame thairs is out. Blah..

This problem is beyond my ability to solve here, but I can say that you should call shep up and talk to him or direct him to this thread. The one vendor in the DSM world who has always done right by me and been incredibly reliable has been shep. :thumb:

yeah, i have been emailing him. He sais it could be a number of things. tcase, centerdiff, or a stripped or broken axel i guess its all about elimination now. Thanks for your help though.

Isnt that normal since the center diff is not an liminted slip? It just like an open rear in a RWD platform. When I had my car running with all fours off the ground it did the samething, I bet if you stop the one front wheel thats turning the other will start spinning. :dsm::talon::laser:

Thats what i did in that video right when i stopped the one the other one started spinning just the same. I looked closer at the clutch today ( didn't find anything.. I took out my extension rod on my slave because i thought that might of been pushing on the fork when the pedel was out.)Drove it around and still no noises... from 4 grand and up it feals normal (no slipping at all) in first and second but once in 4th-5th it slips till 5k MAN this is so strange...

I Think That is NORMAL for your car to do that...Unless you had Posi or something. My 4x4 Jeep does that TOO cause it has OPEN DIFFERENTIALS...there may be slighty MORE brake clamping force or resistance on the passenger side wheel...Causing the power to be sent to the drivers wheel :)

Looks fine to ME!!

:talon:

Ok cool, That makes me happy that its not my diff. I am going to take off my drivers side cv shaft and look at the outboard joint. I know that one has lost all its grease from a tear in the boot maybe its slipping in side of there or something.

If it is NOT slipping in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd only 4th and 5th I would say that's a Transmission problem. Have you Checked the Gear oil In the Trans?

Also Check the shifter linkage
