I was driving my car with a friend, I pushed my car this time more then I have ever. Just as I was pushing the throttle past 70% in 3rd tires spun then, BAMMM car felt like someone threw an anchor in the back of the car. A cel came on as it happened, then disappeared.

I was only at 15psi on my 50trim, so I'm skeptical in thinking that it's fuel cut, but my turbo flows more then 35lbs/min. Since then I haven't had the same power at all! My plugs are fairly new gapped to .028 brp7es, recently bought new coils. Did a boost leak test with a smoke machine, no leaks. Timing is dead on, checked with a timing light.

I have never felt that in my car before, I thought my head was gonna go threw the windshield. What do you guys suggest? I can't pull the code because it turned off. I don't hit fuel cut now so it's odd :hmm:. It's as if the car went into a safe mode. Not open loop because I scanned it and it went into closed loop.

Any help is appreciated, it's frustrating to have something but not be able to use it to it's potential!

Sounds like the wastegate malfucation I had (P1103 &/or P1104). I know you don't have OBD2, but if you could pull up the code that would help out ALOT. If you know someone at a local firestone, stealership, or somewhere that has an OBD1 reader, you can pull the code. It will be stored in the pending or history codes.

There is also the usual; fouled plugs, shitty wires (Just realized you have COP's), or fuel related.

As mentioned in OP, I scanned the car but I wasn't able to pull up the code using the snap-on scanner. How did you fix your problem? From what I know, and what I felt I can say that was pretty much fuel cut from the whiplash I had.

I have the fuel mods to handle it, my injectors are getting there but I'm not sure if that would cause this, and the cel? Since then like I said my car hasn't been as fast.

How does a smoke machine work for finding boost leaks? Does it actually pressurize the lines to above what you are running?

The car prob either went in limp mode or pulled timing. Either way get the code read and hen reset ECU if it was just fuel cut from over boosting.

Your fuel system is ready for more boost if you done have the required pieces. Injector need to be bigger, bigger fuel pump and a way to tune. Without all 3 you should be at stock boost levels.

The smoke machine I used at my school had a meter of what pressure you wanted to test the system at, pressure builds up through every part and any little leak can be found right away. I tested mine to 25psi.

As I said 255walbro fuel pump, 550injectors, safc. I was at 15psi, overboosting can`t be an issue, can it.
I also checked timing, it hasn`t been the same since.

I don't know what the snapon one is like, but the one at my work you can hook up an adapter cable for OBD1 and pull pending or history codes. When I had my 1998 Eclipse GSX I got that code on WOT and it threw me foreward. I thought it was fuel cut, but my CEL would come on immediately after. It sounds identical to the problem you are having. I replaced my wastegate and she was fixed.

Damn, ok. and it didn't happen again, your car just felt slower? Ill try and use the other scanner with the adapters, snap on one wasn't working out.
