today i got my cel on.I went to some mechanic to get the code. The code was for the barometric pressure sensor.Does the maf setup works with the barometric pressure together???

Which version of the MAF-T are you using, and did you buy it new?

Sounds either like the MAF-T is broken, or was improperly installed. Is it a plug-and-play (aka: made for the 1G MAS plug) or did you hard-wire it in on bare wires? Can never remember if it's the baro or the air temp that the MAF-T sends back as a static value. If it's the baro, your MAF-T is even more likely busted, or your wiring job needs work. If it's the air temp, suspect your GM MAS as being less than perfect condition.

Well then, it could be any of the three. Damaged GM MAS, broken MAF-T, or bad wiring job/harness problem.

If the MAF-T/GM MAS has been installed for a while and only just started throwing the code, I'd suspect the MAS itself first, then the MAF-T, then the wiring. Try to diagnose in that order... borrow parts if possible and replace them one at a time until you find the cause of the problem. Unfortunately, the MAF-T is kind of a kludge, so standard trouble diagnosis goes right out the window.

does our cars got a barometer pressure sensor ?? ### it cant be wiring,i soldered all wires to the ECU ,and i didn't had any problems before.I think its my GM mas sensor just passed out, because it was used already.i tookit out from my friends GMC Safari.i tried to disconnect the gm mas sensor,as soon as i disconnected, the car didn't die, just Rpm's went a lilbit up,is it normal???

The baro sensor is part of the MAS. Integrates a flow, temp, and baro sensor to get a good read on the actual mass of the air going through it. After all, hot air has less mass, low-pressure air has less mass, so you can't rely on flow alone. I guess the GM MAS doesn't use an air temp sensor though, which is why the MAF-T sends back a static temperature value.

Disconnecting it may have put the car into limp mode (which happens with the stock MAS when you disconnect it), but I don't know what the behaviour of the MAF-T would be when you unplug the GM MAS. As I said, try replacing the GM MAS first, then check the MAF-T, then check the wiring.

i bought i new GM Maf Sensor and still the same thing,BTW where is that barometer sensor located at?? maybe i just need to replace that sensor and ill be good to go

the original baro sensor is in the maf. the maf-t is supposed to send a constant signal. my maf-t did the same thing. except it was throwing three codes total: baro, coolant temp, and intake temp. i replaced the coolant temp, but i never got the intake air or baro code to go away. i ended up selling the car and maf-t before i ever figured out the problem. best of luck.
