CEL code 12

I've scanned my 92 talon tsi awd and the only code that pulls up is code 12. THe air flow sensor is not reading at least 25Hz at idle. I've gone through 2 1G MAF and a 2G Maf. and STILL! no difference. The symptoms are stuttering @ 2500 - 3500 rpm. I've treid to clear the code but the snap on scanner was denied. Any help would be appreciated.

any body????? I have emissions testing soon and a CEL would definately not be a candidate for having this car on the street in illinois

I have the same problem,ever since the shep trans install the cel has been on.Dsm link diagnosis keeps poppin up," cel 12 air flow circuit issues" I try to clear it and it comes right back.Took the ic piping apart all to find a paper towel crammed against the maf screen!Yep that will cause it to run crappy!anyway it runs better now but it still has the cel and shes runnin relly fat,im gettin 120 miles to a tankdoes anyone know if I would be getting this code beacuse I sucked a paper towel down the intake mani? Any help would be great!

if you have a safII look very carefully at pink wire it may be in wrong place mine was!! i switched two wires and presto no more flooding,sputtering, and i'm able to control a/f ratio please double check yourself, it may be worth it!!!
