cat back reccomendations

i almost ran over some kid that cut across the street on their bike.. she knew traffic was comming it seemed almost intentional.. but i think makeing my car a bit louder would be worth it..but the cops here are lame about how loud a car can be..

I'd like to get a cat back, eliminate the leaking flex pipe.. and improve flow with a selectable tone/flow exhaust system. like you can exchange tips etc..

Can someone recommend a cat back that isnt extrordinarily expensive? and yet lighter then oem...

Good luck in VA. The best thing, I think you can do, is a 3" Vibrant muffler, and custom piping. Alot of people are doing this in VA. Most of the time, police don't even hear your car, they can just see that aftermarket muffler, and ticket you for noise because they can.

Yeah i got pulled over for aftermarket exhaust, the cop told me that any exhaust is illegal if its not stock...Of course the reason i got pulled over was because i kinda let my atmosphere dumptube open up at WOT and it was on my fwd custom made 3" exhaust system

Nice, looks like most exhausts are good. I wonder if there is any dyno comparison between them...

+1 on the Apex'i N1 set up with no cat, that's what I have. Sounds nice, not like a weed wacker

Custom is gonna be cheapest way to go. Source you muffler and cat from various places on the internet, Then get a good muffler shop to make one with as few bends as possible. Weld it together and put it on your car.

Otherwise My favourites are Thermal R&D, Megan Racing, and Apexi N1 in that order.

Like some people say. Just go for an ebay pipe dude. Nothing special about a pipe. Then get a 3 inch muffler that isnt to loud buta good brand. Just read up on them

+1 N1. Easy install and great smooth sound. Looks perfect on my 2g If you are on a budget see about getting a local muffler shop to weld you up a cheap setup.

I got an ebay K2 3" on mine with a megan cat-less downpipe fitment was fine for me and sounds great

Thermal or something similar, I do not recommend the Apexi N1 because the mufflers are garbage.

I have the Apexi N1 and love it. I also considered the Thermal R&D. I think they are both awesome products and you will not go wrong with either.
