Ok my stock engine in my 1997 gst blew. I just got done swapping in a stock 1999 gst engine. As you know they moved the CAS and changed the plugs between these two years. Luckly I had the 1999 wiring harness so I spliced the new plug on my 1997 harness and ran it to the new CamAS right next to the CrankAS by the intake cam gear. I just matched the blue, red, and black wies up color to color. I think this made it read 180 degrees off as my 2 and 3 plugs fired when my 1 and 4 should of. I swapped my plug wires around on my coils to fix this. Instead of the usual 4123 i did 2341 to reverse the firing order. It started. I did have a misfire as my valve timing is off alittle bit. I am redoing that right now. As my engine would go from around 1,500 to 2,100 rpm very rapidly. Can this be a TPS? Other than that this engine is almost ready to be on the road again.
