CAS turns off car!

Basically I have a no start issue which I know has to do with wiring. I tried another thread which was not answered successfully. So I decided to test my CAS and see if I had spark. Had the car on the ON position with the spark plug out on the valve cover. Didnt take off the CAS but I was still able to turn it. When I turned it so far in one direction, no spark but then I would hear my turbo timer counting down. The car would stay off untill I turned the CAS back the other way and the car would come on as if I turned the ignition to ON yet it was on all along. Any ideas? Maybe a short or something?

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish with the CAS. The CAS is the camshaft angle sensor, it's adjustment is used for setting base timing.

If you were doing this "test" with key on engine off(and the ignition shut off): you definitely have a wiring issue.
