I have a 90 talon TSI 6bolt and wondering if there are any differences between the CAS from newer years, just so I know what to look for since mine needs replacing.
Also if anyone might have one that I can try out in Los Angeles.
I’m getting an ERROR NO SYNC on my Motec M4.

Have you checked to make sure there is a signal coming from the CAS and that the wiring is good? Ive had that issue before where my wires were bad. The 91+ CAS from my knowledge is the same you just need a harness to go from the firewall to the 91+ CAS.

There are three different 1G CAS. The 90 model is unique in that it has an attached cable that over time can get brittle and break. It's optical like the units in the 91-92 cars but they have a connector on them that the wiring harness attaches to. The 93-94 engines came with newer CAS that used magnetic sensing (Hall effect) but shared the same connector as the 91--92 model.

With the proper adapter cable any of the later 1G CAS's can be used on the 90 cars.

Since your using a third party ECU it's possible it's not configured correctly to use the DSM CAS. The ECU provides the pull-up voltage that the CAS grounds for signalling.
