So tomorrow I will be taking the galant on a trip that will be about a little over 100 miles round trip. It will be its first venture with the basically new top end. The car has been running fine minus a bit of idle surge from the egr being unplugged, but other than that it has been running fine around the block a few times and hasn't been overheating. What are some precautions I should take before taking it on a journey?

Thanks :thumb:

yea pretty much whatever they said, also go to a gas station or if you can at home, make sure all 4 tires are pumped so you get the maximum mpg.

One thing that gets me most of the time. Zip ties. I don't know why but they come in handy. Have a few in my car along with nuts and bolts I find on the street!
Plus sobe glass bottles. Never know WHO deserves them on the freeway! Opps delete the last sentence before this one!

I'll grab some zip ties then before I leave in a couple hours.

I'll disregard the sobe bottle comment, only because spark plug porcelain woks sooo much better :)

The zip ties can deffinately be a life saver! They held my bumper on after losing bolts, fixed vacuumhoses that kept getting loose, kept my bov from poping out of the crappy stock hose and clamp... etc... :D

And don't forget some good spirit and nice tunes so that you actually enjoy the ride.. ;) :p

Trip went great without a hiccup. :) thanks guys... now I just have to fix that damn idle surge its soooo annoying haha

I know your trips done but heres my list of things I always take on trips:

10mm-14mm sockets, my socket wrench, a flash light, zip ties, screw driver, fuses, jumper cables, scissor jack, spare tire, silicone, alternator belt, duct tape.

I've never had to use any of it aside from the flash light/screwdriver on a friend's talon :p, but you never know :)
