Carbon fiber for 1g

Anyone ever buy a CF hood off ebay? It seems like a decent deal and I think it would look pretty good. I want to paint my car the kona blue pearl and I think the carbon fiber would set it off. Any thoughts or opinions?

As long as you stay with good brands, like VIS and Seibon. You'll be fine.

I'm not a fan of this hood..But it should offer you better under hood temps..

any suggestion on a cheaper one i cant find one the same style that is as cheap. im only interested in losing weight, underhood temps, and of course i think it would look pretty good as well.

Do not get that style hood unless you enjoy getting water into your bay when it rains or enjoy seeing parts under your hood rust from moisture . I got my hood off ebay. Ill try to find the vendor and pm you.

If you plan on getting one of these hoods, the color you receive it in will change with in a couple months after install due to the UV rays from the sun. The resin/clear coat will start to look foggy and/or start turning green as if you stayed parked under a pollen tree for awhile. I personally am not too sure how to fix this problem yet, but when I order my hood I am going to sand it down with 600 grit to get most of the clear coat off and re-clear coat it with automotive clear coat because protect against UV rays better. I"m hoping this will prevent it from changing color. I hope this helps in your decision of buying a carbon fiber hood.
