Everyonce in a while my car wont start. Ill turn the key and nothing will happen at all. All the normal dash lights come on, but when I turn the key all the way I just hear a click from a relay under the dash and the lights dim. Thats it... no other noise at all. Its as if the starter isnt connected at all. But when it works it works as if nothing is wrong.

Connect meter to the starter lead. If you have power there it is the starter. If not its the ignition switch or something else. IMHO you have a bad starter.

This problem is also commonly caused by a poor connection in the large battery cables (or an internal break in the cables themselves). Disconnect and clean up the ends where they attach to the battery, ground, and starter before buying a new starter. Just 0.1 ohm resistance in these cables will prevent starter from operating (and starter relay just clicks).

I agree. also check and make sure your cables are tight on the battery terminals.
