i recently removed my charcoal canister and the hoses coming off it. i also unplugged and removed the purge control valve solenoid and now the car wont start it doesn't even crank the key just clicks all the lights and everything come on but when i turn the key to crank it it just clicks. the battery is fully charged. any idea on what happened?

you might check around for a single black wire w yellow stripe. Its in a piece of loom by itself and it the ding wire for the starter. Its right around the area of the charcoal canister on a 2g and they are notorious for bad/faulty connections.

i found this wire. it is not connected. mine has a female connector put on the end of it. it is a black and yellow wire. where does it go i was looking around and couldnt figure it out?

and knochgoon i will also throughly clean my battery terminals also.

well i know the one wire comin off the starter connection to the top of the battery terminal. that is connected on mine. but is it the connection at the starter or at the battery terminal that is known for going bad?

There is the larger black wire yellow stripe and a smaller 18au wire. It runs from the harness (relay fuse box etc.) to the starter solenoid. It has a quick connect in the loom. If you found that and its disconnected then find the other end. Without that wire connected your not getting 12v+ to the solenoid.

One end can be traced from the harness the other from the starter. If you can find it look in the smaller 3/8 loom it has a seperate loom piece just for that ONE wire.

okay... i do have a small black wire like an 18 gauge that comes out of connector coming out of the harness. and it is not connected. it has a male connector on the end like a quick connect. does this sound like what you are talkin about?

Yep. If its coming out of the loom then find the one coming from the starter. If you unhooked it or it came loose reach behind the intake manifold and search for it. There is a connector on the end at the starter and a connector that "quik" connects to the one in the loom.

Its desighned so you can unhook it to remove the starter or motor without cutting the harness. Mine was corroded bad enough I had to cut it out and solder it. Alot of 2g owners have this issue.

If your lost take a pic itll help.

Good Luck

yes i had been messing around with the cables alot so i most likley pulled it off. yea one end is coming out of the split loom, so the other end is under the intake manifold somewhere?

My car its easier to see because I cleaned up the injector area alot. On a stock 2g theres a mess of injector harness etc, But if you look closely between runners 3 and 4 on the intake youll see the top of the starter. The wire should connect from the solenoid atop the starter then run back to your connector.

Its easier to access with the battery out and the upper IC piping pulled loose from the throttle body.
