Ok guys heres where im at. My car basically just stopped turning on. I had lights so i checked the starter and the wires everything was fine. I then replaced the battery. The car worked for about 2 to 3 days then same problem came up. So i then changed the alternator. For about 4 to 5 days everything was working fine. I did have an terrible squeel coming from the alternator belt until the car warmed up and i drove about 2 to 3 miles. but i tightened everything and that reduced it considerably. But now the car is again not starting. It will start on occassion like for instance it started this morning then again at lunch, but wouldnt come on leaving my house this afternoon.

I have lights and all electronics working and my battery reading is reading a good level. I also can hear the starter clicking. Ive unhooked a lot of electronics like amps and unecessary things. But all an all i dont know why i keep having this problem. Fuses are fine cables appear good from what i can see i scuffed up the terminals and wire terminals a little as well as following the cables all throughout making sure there are no breaks or damages. So at this point i dont know. Someone please give me some ideas. Thanks.

Check to see if your starter relay is bad. Could be a cause as well even though everything else is good.

OK just because your terminal ends are clean dose not mean the cable is good it could have a brake or bad spot. Another thing rebuilt starters are not always as good as new and can start to act funny did you have the same issue before the new starter? If i were you i would use a multimeter to check the resistance.

The starter was never changed. I just meant that it seems to be working fine. But i never actually tested it so im gonna go ahead and do what u said to check it out. I traced the wires all the way through they looked pretty good i may have missed something though.

Also defient my noise doesnt sounds like that its more of a high pitch squeal and it wasnt doing it before i changed my alternator nor did it when i first changed the alternator. Also it doesnt always make the sound. The majority of the time on start up it does but for instance today it didnt.

If your starter was never changed then that is your problem. The problem is most likely the solenoid, the smaller round part where the wires hook up. I have had the brushes wear down all the way before that can cause your problem too. Both of those Are internal parts of the starter that can cause your erratic cranking issues.

thanks im going to be changing my starter either today or tom whenever i can get to it. Hopefully this will be the end of this problem.

Did changing the starter fix the problem? Thats ###### the one thing out of 27 others I have not changed yet. My car cranks but does not start without starting fluid. Let me know soon, thanks. :thumb:

Theres a bastard black wire with a yellow stripe that has a connector that likes to corrode on the 2gs. I think ive told 4 people that in a matter of days. They all had the No start clicking starter or no start no nothing problem.. Search wont start no start etc and read up. Its located under the charge piping near the TB and is a bi*** to find ;)
