I just got done installing a FMIC and 20g turbo and mbc on my car and I can't figure out why it won't really boost, I don't think its even getting out of vacuum but I just have the stock boost gauge so its hard to tell. Anyways I think I hooked the boost controller up right but I don't know, it seems like everyone does theirs different. I tried using the bung on my j pipe as a boost source and the other line to my wastegate actuator. I tried having a line to the wastegate actuator and the other teed in with the bov and intake mani, tried turning boost way up and way down and it doesn't seem to build boost. I can't hear any boost leaks and the turbo/intercooler/boost controller are brand new...this is driving me crazy I haven't had my car for a good month now and I NEED to get this running, everytime I think I have everything back together something else seems to go wrong....I am goin F****** crazy. :banghead:

Open wastegate flapper

+1, I think the waistgate is stuck open also or the actuator arm won't retract, or the actuator needs to be shimed,

I think you need to change your oil with some synthetic dexron vi and that will fix all your problems. Just keep adding fluid until it prrrrrs under boost.
: your joking right?

OP I used epoxy to seal the valve stem, works like a charm.

i ended up taking my car for a drive and seems like it is boosting ok, maybe a little lag, but idk because ive never had a 20g, but I think I still need to adjust my BOV, but I can drive my car again! :thumb:

was this the first time you took it for a drive since you installed the turbo? and yes there will be lag on a 20g compared to the istant boost you get from a t25

I can almost guarantee you that your wastegate is open causing all exhaust gas to blow out instead of spinning the turbine generating boost. Hook a hose off an air compressor to your wastegate and give it a blast. See if your actuator arm moves or if you can hear it open. Since you said it's an eBay turbo you more than likely have an adjustable actuator rod. Simply tighten it up a bit using the adjustment nut. 9 times out of 10 eBay turbos come with actuators that need to be adjusted. Also I definitely would NOT run a boost controller until you have bigger fuel pump and injectors and a boost gauge, and with bigger injectors come tuning software. All you will do is hit fuel cut or blow your motor, and with a 20g running low boost until you get fuel upgrades is pointless.
