car wants to start as soon as posotive terminal is connected?....help!!!

ok guys i was cleaning up my engine bay and found a loose connectore (relay) by my bcs. it has one melted wire and now when i plug it in and touch the posotive cable to the battery the car instantly tries to start.

one wire is melted "black/white strip" and the others "blue/white strip, and black/yellow strip" are fine.

I'm guessing then that it's not on the N/T that is listed.

Was the relay on the same plate as the BCS? If so it's a alternator/generator relay. Although I'm not quite sure why it's causing this particular problem.

I actually broke mine during some clean-up work, pulled in half on me and looked just like yours. Had a hell of a time telling the dealer what it was as I didn't have the car with me and the Mitsubishi part number had "rubbed off" between my house and the dealer. Also that specific relay doesn't show up under my VIN number. It just came on my car because it was built in July 97 and went into service in November 97 when I purchased it.

Bad thing about buying a car near the first or last part of the production run..........you get extra, or not enough parts installed by the newb at the plant.
