Ok, today i went to school and drove around with no problems. After i came home, the car sat for about 2 hours. I then had to drop my friend off. When i turned on the car, it was vibrating really bad. I couldn't do anything because i had to drop him off. i drove for about 10 minutes. i thought that one of the cylinders wasn't going so i took out all the spark plugs, which weren't down that tight, and i retorques them to 18 pounds/ foot. i have the NGK something 6. i recently bought the MSD superconductor spark plug wires. after i got the plugs back in i went for a drive, the car still vibrated but not as badly. I can't drive around like this though. Please help me out. thanks

1. Capitalize the letter "i" when refering to yourself. You are in school, but you drive, so you must be at least 16. They teach this simple rule as early as 4th grade. Make an effort, son.

2. When something is wrong with your car and you continue to drive it, you take a risk. Fortunately for you this time, you got away with it, but you may not be so lucky in the future. If you had blown the engine dropping your friend off, would he be helping you fix the car? Unless the answer to that is yes, tell your friend to start walking. A ten minute drive is no marathon march to wherever he needed to be.

3. The car is almost as old as you are. It could be 16 years old by now, depending on when it rolled off the assembly line. My guess, based on the word vibrating is a dead motor mount, which isn't that much of a big deal, but dead motor mounts do not give a CEL. So perhaps you need to come up with some more detailed information for us. It could just need a tune up or something, but vibration does not help me any. If you think it's safe to drive, take it to Autozone and get them to pull the code. If you don't think it's safe, better get it towed somewhere.

does the whole car shake? Can you feel it especially in the gas pedal?

Does it feel as powerful as it did before?

You should invest in a datalogger. I got an $8 cable off ebay and an m100 palm pilot for like $10. IF you had a logger you could see you error code you were throwing and you'd have a better idea whats going on.

If its been a long time since you changed the balance shaft belt maybe that belt jumped. It would cause some vibrations if it was gone.

when my bsuted ass plug wires stared cracking they would arc to the valve cover and obviously get no current to the plugs. shook the car like hell and no power, but you could hear the snapping/popping noise.

First off dr1665, i know i'm young(17) but you don't have to treat me like i am 5, i also thought that this was a car forum not an english class discussion. I'm not as bad as some people. I have the NGK BPR6ES plugs gapped at .32, i checked them after i pulled the plugs and they were still fine. I also checked my spark plug wires, which were also fine. I can't really explain much because the car just did this after starting it up after an hour or so that it was driving fine. The engine vibrates the whole car when it is idleing and when i am driving. The motor is sputtering along. it feels like i am missing a cylinder or something. the car runs really bad, my dad suggested that i might have got bad gas. i bought it 2 nights before, it's 93 octane.

Well thanks everyone for thier input, but i had my neighbor come over and look, and the problem 2 injectors, weren't getting any signal. after jiggling them around all 4 cylinders ran again. Is it normal for the injector wiring to be this sensitive.
