My car is intermittently vibrating while driving. It started earlier today and seems to have gotten progressively more frequent. It feels as though I'm driving over a bunch of tiny bumps in the road and occasionally a larger bump (although the larger bump COULD just be bumps in the road, it doesn't really feel right). It does it both in and out of gear, and braking doesn't seem to affect it, nor does steering from side to side. This is a very new problem, and I haven't been able to take off my wheel (front right) to see if anything looks bad. A few weeks ago I had to disconnect a bunch of the suspension pieces and take out the axles to change my clutch, but I tightened everything up nice. If something were to have come loose, what does it sound like? Also, I have drilled/slotted rotors. If either the pads or the rotors were getting fairly worn, would it cause a situation like this? I'm getting no noise when braking and no drag when I'm pushing it in neutral.

Does it pull left/right? I recently had the same problem, really bad vibrations, loud noise inside cabin. I had my wheel bearings replaced and now it runs smooth as ever. Do you know when the last time yours were replaced? I heard they typically last about 100-120k, but I could be wrong. If you can get the car on a lift or tire jack and spin the wheels, mine made a hum/slight screech; which was a sign of bad wheel bearings. Just some feedback, hope it helps!

Could be your bearings as mentioned above. Could also be your struts. What speeds are you driving at when this happens or is it always like that?

He could have just thrown a weight on one of his wheels. That would make the whole car shake at higher speeds(50+mph).

Vibration is usually caused by the things that spin. Most common to least common:

-Wheel out of balance
-Wheel out of round
-Wheel bearings
-Axles/CV joints

Ok, I took off my wheel and disc and started spinning it and it made a pretty unhappy sound. I took a video of it, so tell me what you think. I wouldn't know what bad wheel bearings sound like, but I would guess at it being wheel bearings first. Here's the video.

It could be a worped brake rotor to. If i had speakers i would listen but i cant it is more than likely the WB then.

It could've been a warped brake rotor, but when I was turning it (as you can see in the video) it was making noise while the brake rotor was off. I wonder if I can drive it to a shop in this condition?

If it was a rotor, it usually wouldn't make that noise all around; it would most likely only be warped in a certain area. It should spin more freely than that though. I drove with bad wheel bearings for almost 10k before I figured out what it was...so a spin up to a local shop shouldn't hurt it.

No one can be sure just watching a video but it sure isn't your brake rotor. Sure sounds like bearings to me, but I've not had them that far gone before. With that amount of friction I wouldn't drive very far.

Yeah, it would've been weird if it were my rotor because it was 3 feet away from my car. I'm going to replace my hub assembly tomorrow because I really can't see anything else it could be. When my drivers side wheel bearing went out, it didn't sound near this bad. Just a little bit of noise when turning. Hopefully I'll be posting positive results tomorrow.

This happened to my friends 1G talon, yours sounds the same as his did when we spun the wheel, it turned out to be his wheel bearings, so I would take it to a shop, unless you have a press and the know-how, it shouldnt be that hard, bout 4 hours for both sides.

Yeah I would say you probably have bad wheel bearings, i've never had a bearing sound that bad before so like allready mentioned don't drive it to far. How tight did you tighten the nut on the axle when you put it back together? Did you regrease or put new bearings in when it was apart?

does this happen while accelerating and or coasting? I had a very bad vibration problem and was certian it was coming from the drive shaft. I later noticed I had a bad strut on the left front, changed it and my vibration that was coming from the rear totaly went away. This just prooved to me that you cant rule out anything with these cars. Also is your car lowered? How much?

Did it have really bad road noise or tire hum when you were driving it? Wondering if I have the same problem.

Yes, it was like a sort of tire hum. My wheel bearings are bad, and now I'm trying HARD to figure out how to get the hub assembly out of the knuckle. If anyone has any tips, PLEASE tell me.
