doesn't fire. driving at 20mph, car stalled between shifts. coil for 1 and 4 sparks, 2 and 3 does not. how exactly do i go about checking resistance on the coil pack? the haynes manual is not very specific, or maybe i'm just reading it cross-eyed.

*power modulator/distributor/transistor/whatever you want to call it checks out fine (recently replaced)
*plugs and wires are not to fault, as there is no spark at the coil.

side note: has been giving me this problem since i installed the AFCII. in parking lots, if i run first gear to 3000-4000rpm quickly, slam the clutch and toss it in neutral, it drops to 200rpm or so and barely runs. but this time, it stalled (for the first time). could the wiring at the ECU cause the malfunction? and which wires in specific should i look at.

thanks

i had a problem with getting spark at 2 and 3, it turned out it was a wire going from the ECU to the transistor, it had gotten cut in half some how..connected it and it started right up and ran fine.

scanned the CEL today. P0340 (camshaft position sensor). still no spark from one coil, spark from the other. wiring AT the ecu seems fine. also, my radiator fan hasn't worked for a couple months now (wired it w/AC fan to stay on at all times). anyone know if this MFI this piece of chit haynes manual talks about has anything to do with that? according to the wiring diagram, the MFI runs through both. but the two relays behind the console look identical.

My car is doing the same kind of thing. If I start it cold it starts perfect. If it is warm, it only ignites coil for 1 and 4, the 2-3 coil had no spark. Then if I let it sit a while it works fine again. I tried a ECU and a new coil pack, and it still does it? Any Ideas. I am going to look into the transitter, I have a CEL and I am going to scan that tomorrow.
