Damn, I just have no luck/skills at all.
So here is my attempt at stating the problem. 95 GSX
I had mitsubishi run codes for me and I had a rear 02 code. This was expected seeing as my 02 sensor bwas pulled out accidentally during my engine swap. My car has ran great since May when this was done and I have been driving with the CEL on since then.
Fast forward to Monday night when I decide to replace the 02 sensor for emissions testing. I went ahead and dropped the exhaust, replaced the 02 sensor and put the exhaust back up. I go ahead and start the car up and it idles terribly around 200rpms and thick black smoke reeking of fuel is coming out of my exhaust. I shut the car off and after some research find out that ther exhaust has grounds for the 02 sensors on it. 1 before the CAT and 1 after. I
to myself at the fact I thought these were just extra supports and the 1 before the CAT was never reinstalled after the new engine was swapped in. I look under the car and see in my haste I failed to propery install the 2nd grounding strap this time. (so neither grounding strap is hooked up at this point)
I go ahead and hook the 2nd (after cat) one up and turn the car on. The car idles noticcable better but not good enough. I'm still running rich as hell. I hook the 1st (before cat) one up and it idles even better yet still running way too rich. I shut the car off. I go to start the car and the car won't start, after trying to jump it it still will not start. I think I fouleed my plugs but am unable to check at this time due to a lack of tools until I get home today.
So even after I get the car started. I don't see what in the hell I could have done for the car to start running so rich. The second 02 sensor has been unhooked since May so I would think it has nothing to do with that. I was thinking it's possible I somehow (no idea since it was never touched) broke my 02 at the 02 housing by starting the car with no ground or hooking the new 02 (after the cat) up wrong for a few minutes before unplugginh it. (the wire harness broke so I had tom ake a harness from a molex connector)
Has anyone had just the front 02 sensor go bad? And if so what how did the car run?

Now your going to hook up the first one?
Has it been unhooked all this time as well?
