? tried this on my cousins tsi and it doesn't start. Also you think this could also have something to do with my starting problems, I go to start the car, it makes a nasty like starter noise then it starts, then sometimes it just wont even turn over.

I know when I got my car the clutch switch was disabled. This switch(when working correctly)doesn't allow the car to start if the clutch isn't in. People disable these often for remote starters or just if they fail. When they fail usually your car just plain wont start at all because it thinks the clutch is out.

I'm guessing that your starting problems would not be directly related to this. Is the sound you hear a loud grinding sound before it starts? Its possible the starter is going bad or is comming loose. I think autozone and suff will test the starter for free..but since it sorta works it might not yield any information.

yeah it was loose, so i got it tight again, and now it doesn't want to start at all, but when i tightened it, it still made a grinding nasty noise.
