well I have a '96 GST complete 6-bolt and head, the problem started the other nite well driving home through a lot of water due to the rain...I pull up to my house to open the garage door cause I don't have an opener turn the car off..so I go to start the car crank crank crank...nothing I keep trying still nothing the RPMs jiggle but no start up,so I reset the ECU and waited a few then I crank over it cranks for a little bit then starts up...it runs fine well its on but as soon as I turn it off and try and start it nothing I have to wait a while for it to start. my vac on the boost gauge is reading 11, shouldn't it be at 15? what could be causing this? my EGR is blocked off, any help please as I need this car in working condition since it always screws up on me and I have to fix it weekly.thanx

You might have a small leak in your fuel system which causes it to depressurize when the car is off. Just an idea.

i would suggest checking the wires on the temp sensor, maybe one has broken, or maybe the temp sensor is bad, its located on the housing of the thermostat. i had a similar issues with that thing

one of mine is broken actually and my car does take a while to start up sometimes.. hrmmm... don't think i can buy a new one from the dealer right? and i tried finding one at a junkyard but i can't seem to find one that looks like mine

I was guessing that it was the coolent temp sensor cause I have heard simiular problems when one of those are bad... but the thing is I replaced both of the sensors, 1 about 4months ago and the other last year...but i bought them both from like napa or autozone so they're not OEM, so the big sensor on the water necks the one that sends info to the ECU correct?the little ones for the gauge...? ever heard of any defects on water temp sensors that are not OEM?

not too sure about non OEM temp sensor issues, but for marcmsj you can take the harness off of the temp sensor and use a wire repair kit to fix that sensor, not need to buy a new sensor if the one on there is still good
