Hi,

My car shakes like hell when in gear (D and R). The steering wheel shakes like I am doing some kind of hand massage. It's much better if the car is in P or N. I think this must be related to the engine/transmission mounts. I can see that the front mount is pretty much worn. I am wondering if other mounts need to be replaced as well.

Which mount(s) most likely to cause such shaking, i.e., a lot of shaking when in gear, much better in N and P?
Thanks

My car is 99 Eclipse auto 420A NT with 114k

That tranny mount under the battery tray can be a big issue. I've got the poly mounts in all of the motor mounts and my car shakes already. Well it didn't help that the shop who was warrantying a clutch job put the tranny mount in upside down. Which caused it to shake even more.

Someone ought to tell this guy about how he can fill blown motor/tranny mounts to save some time and get better traction off the line. ;)
