car revs to 8k on start up? help please.

so i put a new ported intake mani. on my 91 TSi. just a stock one ported and cleaned up a lil bit. so i get it all back together and its good, i get about 20 feeet down the road and somehow dead short my positive terminal on my battery to the hood, so after i get that under control (haha) i fix the ONE wire i fried in my wiring harness. it was just a ground, i checked the whole thing and its the only one that was bad. So i get that fixed and start up my car and upon starting with the throttle CLOSED it just revs. how? i have no idea. i need help. i put a new TPS in and it fixed the problem for one start, it ran great. i turned car off then back on about 20 minutes later and shes just revving again. im so lost here guys.

try checking ## ecu mine did that same thing but with my fans i had two slim lines and one got to hot becasue of the turbo and melted the wires and they touched and that went all the way to the ecu didnt know bought all kinds of tps and isc then i check the ecu and yep there it is fired because of the spark so see if this helps

If not ECU test the IAC.

ok so i concluded its my ecu, i got an EPROM ordered and it should be in tomorow night..ill keep all updated..
