Car revs to 4000rpm when i touch the throttle

Ok so I just swaped in a motor in my 89 gst. It has a 16g, 63mm TB, Type s BOV (not recirculated right now), Tubular headers, evo injectors and thats pretty much it. Well im having problems with my car reving to 4000 RPMs when i even touch the gas peddle and staying there for about 5 sec befor coming down to its idle. I have set the TPS to .5v like Steve said (DSM Wiseman) and tried adjusting BISS but didnt help much. What could cause it to not let me gradually rev the car up, its 4000 or idle.

Is the tps bad try and test it to verify its in a working range. Or is your throttle cable adjusted right or possibly sticking.

check your iac idle air control sensor make sure its clean and running properly and making sure your throttle body elbow is clean and tight probably wouldnt hurt either

It is a new throttle body with all new sensors from Throttlebodys.com. The Tps is working fine. Im sure i dont have something adjusted right.

shouldnt and u said adjusting the biss didnt do much id say maybe a leak somewhere and recirculate the bov

My Talon did that. And I got a Code thrown for the TPS. Double check to see if it's grounded properly or making any ticking sounds

It makes its ticking sounds when i first turn the key like it should. Here is how i have it grounded because I dont have the metal grounding tab that came OEM.

Just did another boost leak test right now and now i have a big leak on the back of intake mani. Hmm i just checked last weekend something must have blown off.

Well in the break of the rain i found the leak was the intake manifold gasket. Pulled off the intake and two of the runners were blowing right by the gasket on the bottom side. So now im waiting on the rain and my EGR block off to come in so i can put this thing back together.

Im glad you found the problem.

You could set it to 1000 rpm. But overtime your car will have slight more wear than a car that idles at 700 rpm its whole life.
You might want to set your intake butterfly by adjusting the Biss screw
