I just rebuilt my engine and tranny, and, since I ran out of resources and time, I had a local shop re-install it for me.
Well, everything went in OK and it started up and ran fine. Then, when he took it out for a test drive and went to give it a little gas the car just sputtered and died. When he tried to start it again the engine just spun freely, no compression. This thing is spinning so freely it seems like I could just grab a cam gear and turn the engine myself.
We got it back in the shop and took the valve cover off. No bent valves or broken cams. This was on Friday at closing time so he won't be able to look at it more until Monday.
My question is what could be the problem, cause I have no ideas. I've been waiting almost 2 years to get the car back together, and spent over $3,000 on everything and now this happened, so I'm getting a little frustrated.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
