Was out driving it hard tuning it and it died while driving.
Restarted it and it ran for another minute and died again.
Restarted it a few more times and it drove for a few seconds and died.
Left it along the road and walked home to get something to tow it.
Came back and decided to start it and it started fine and drove maybe 30 seconds, died again, but restarted and got home. Replaced the CAS and started driving it back and fourth and it drove good for like 5 mins and then died again and wouldn't restart.
Towed it home again and now it won't do anything but start for a second and die.
I have a second digital tach wired off the back of the AEM ECU and when it dies that tach slowy shows the RPM's going to zero.
The stock tach on the other hand slams to zero the second the engine dies even while the engine winds down.
OK I think the factory tach is driven off the power transistor so I'll replace it because that makes sense.
Tried to different power transisitors and nada, nothing, zip zero. Still starts for a second or two. Sometimes I can rev it for like 1 sec before it dies.
Fuel pressure is ok, according to the guage.
Coil packs ohm out right where the plugs connect. On the 3 prong coil plug it has continuity but the guage reads 0's. I know there the reading is only supposed to be like .75 so maybe my meter isn't sensitive enough or is just having continuity enough?
I don't know what else to try.
DSM is really making me
right now.
