Car only idles when water cooled TB

Before i ran a magnus street intake manifold i was perfectly fine not running water to my TB and idled great. After the install the car held a steady 3k idle. So, i switched to a 1g TB and still the problem stayed, so i ran water back through the TB and now it idles fine? Any answer to this.

Do you have the proper block-off plate(s) installed in the TB's? You cannot just by-pass the coolant connections unless the plates are in place.

There are a few ways to do this, the one way to NOT do this is to just eliminate the water lines. The valve that closes when the water temp goes up will just stay open all the time, making your idle way too high.

i blocked them off on the 2g T.b. so, yes i did it properly

You have to pop the freeze plug out and turn in the valve all the way closed.

When i did my magnus i just loop the water lines and it idle ok. Just had to let it warm up. But after this idle got way better. heres what you need to do.
