I just bought another 97 gsx that had no mods on it except for the basic air filter, fmic, 2.5 hard piping, and free mods. I tried hooking up the boost controller(Manual) to it, (aftermarket boost gauge installed) and tried cranking it up to 20 psi. I removed the boost restrictor and installed the boost controller to the wastegate. In first gear the car wont boost above 13 psi and in second not above 16 but the other gears go up to 22 psi. I tried a different boost controller and still the same so I removed the whole boost controller set up and ran the wastegate not connected to anything and still only saw the same amounts. What could this be from?

Its a stock car, and your trying to run more than 20 psi in it. Are you wanting to blow the engine? Only a newbie would try such things. I would be more worried about if I did any damage to it.

On my current car at stock with hard piping and BOV and everything this new one had I was running 27psi with my stock t25 and had 0 problems with for a good 10 months before I upgraded.

that is not what you just said is it?:nono:

there is actually a fmic with 2.5 piping and rfl

Thats not going to help an otherwise stock car trying to run 20+ psi. You got to have fuel upgrades, someway of tunning it, and A t25 runs out of effeiceny at 15 psi. Your stock fuel system runs out at 16 psi. That t25 will be in pieces shortly. A guy the other day on here just blew a 14b and he was running 20+psi. You are going to kill your engine. Turn it down to about 12 or so and keep it there untill you can get the proper supporting mods, unless your goal is to destroy this car. If your engine doesn't let go before you turbo, then when your turbo blows, it will suck metal pieces into the engine which will kill it anyway. Its not if, its when. Just a matter of time, Your just asking for it.

Well, there are more surefire ways of checking it then that, just search on here. Most always boost control problems is caused by wastegate malfunction.

yup its a bleeder style so on the side of the spring hooks to intake pipe and you gotta tee off the compressor housing to the wastegate and to the bottom side of spring. correct?

check your turbo for shaft play, and 27 pound off a t-25.........no smart, your not making any power over 15-16ish psi, your over cranking the turbo causing it's NOT effecent at that psi, just set it at 15psi or unless your a great tuner you'll detonate your motor.

get rid of that bleeder NOW, i just had the same problem on my stock set up i was running 20 psi at wot so i had to baby the car for 2 weaks untill i got a ball and spring mbc, get rid of that bleeder that is whats causing most of your problems, search on this site for a mbc that will work for your car/our cars, and it should be hooked up pressure source to bottom of ball and spring mbc, side nipple on mbc to waste gate. do this and get back with us:thumb:

I highly doubt your running Above 18 psi with that t25. Those are junk. I had one on my car and Honestly that thing was having trouble pulling 16 psi. Let alone 27. I think you may be having some spiking/mbc/turbo issue. Not to mention its a t25. Swap it if you have the supporting mods. More fuel, then more air :thumb:
