Try a different supplier of fuel. Sounds like you are getting knock and the ecu is pulling timing. One way to check is add two gallons of xylene or toulene to a half tank of fuel and add 2oz of marvel mystery oil and see if the problem goes away. Not recommended for daily use, just to diagnose the problem.

It will NOT harm the engine or fuel system. The MMO offsets the drying characteristics of the xyelene or toulene on the fuel lines and orings, and lubricates the top end. Toulene is one of the ingredients in octane booster.

If the problem goes away, find a better gas station.

It sounds like boost leak to me too. I usually just use soap and water in all the piping conections and rev up the engine, if you see bubbles, whala there is your leak :) not the best method but it workd

Aye.. sounds like a boost leak somewhere.. check all your couplers.. and throttle body.. everywhere you can when you do a leak test...
