Before I get flamed, I tried to search the search wasn't working at the time and I need answers. I have a 98 GSX 6bolt swap. I just changed out my lifters the other day and after the job was done, I went to prime the engine and the car wouldn't stop cranking. I mean, the keys were in my hand and not anywhere near the ignition. Turbo timer was off and everything. I ended up pulling some plug to the starter solenoid, reconnected and restarted the car and everything was fine. The very next day, with the MPI fuse in place this time, I tried to start the car and the engine was running, but I noticed my EGT gauge was stuck at 0 and my wideband was acting funny, so I turned the car off and it was stuck cranking again, but wouldn't start. Can someone please tell me what is going on? I have no idea what the heck this could be as it doesn't make any sense to me. The car drives perfectly normal as far as I am concerned except the wideband, but I think that is a calibration issue that I will tackle afterwards. Thanks in advance.

since no one has answered you so far i would just take it to a mechanic. It sounds like something electrical, like the starter motor doesnt realize the car is being shut off. Then agian i dont know much im just getting into the game.on a quick side note wanna help me put in a turbo im in oyster bay, haha just kidding defintly dont have the money for that. good luck sorry i am no hlep.

I've got the best mechanic around. Gary at the Graveyard. And seeing as how I am there all the time, I gained a lot of knowledge. I asked him today (he was there the first time it started happening). So I bought a ignition switch off of him cause he thinks that what it might be, so I will be changing that next week.

On a side note, I don't mind helping anybody. I am over in Baldwin, but I used to work over there near oyster bay (back in the good ol' Acclaim days). Let me know bro, I've no problem helping if I got the time. I've done many turbos on these cars.

good to know about the ignition hopefully that works out. wow i just rember their was an accliam in my town, i think it moved to glen cove or something, anyway if i can actually find a 14b or 14 b engine i might actually hit you up, i want to turbo it so bad, just a stock 14 b ,ive been looking in junkyards gas staion everywhere and cant find a decent turbo or turbo motor, if you know of any around please let me know it would be a great help. thanks man and good luck

I bought the part, just haven't changed it yet. It has only happened to me twice, so I am not in a rush yet. Maybe next week.

And yup, same Acclaim that was in Oyster Bay, that moved to Glen Cove, that went out of business, responsible for such games as NBA Jam and Turok.

Never did a NT to T before, but feel free to let me know. I wouldn't mind helping.
