I just replaced the battery and the front O2 sensor in my car took it for a quick ride down to the grocery store it drove fine, but when i went to pull into the parking lot i pressed the clutch in and it died. Started it back up it revved to about 2200 rpm then died. I let it be and did my grocery shopping then come back out to fool with it. I started it up it revved this time to 3000 rpm then started the wicked idle surge (I had posted in another one of my threads) did it about 5-6 times then rpms slowly dropped till it died. I couldn't just let it sit there so I started it up and immediately took off as I drove while under 2500 rpm the car would sputter and buck as if I was tapping the gas but when it got to 2500 it drove fine till i needed to stop or slow down so I would hit the clutch and it would die if I didn't let off or shift quick but died every time I came to a stop. I went to check the EGR to see if it was stuck but can't seem to find it and the only code I am throwing is for the rear O2 sensor because it has a test pipe. What could this be now?

Its got to be a boost leak somewhere because I hooked my scanner up to it and my TPS reads at 1% and the car rann beautifully till I revved it first rev was just a small one and it went to about 1800 rpm and came back to about 900 and continued running so i revved a little more taking it to about 2500 rpm this time and it fell on its face. So boost leak more than likely the problem? I have a tester on the way but it wont be here for a couple days.

If fixing boost leaks (if any) doesn't help, try to see what the voltage is on the TPS. ISC should also be checked. But def boost leaks can be the culprit here. Keep us posted.

I just checked the ohms on the the iac and the tps. IAC reads from 30.3 to 31.3 across all pins. When I checked the resistance on the tps 1+4 were 4.60 k ohms and 2+4 were 4.63k ohms this is all with the car not running just the key in the on pos.

Guess it's time to move on to boost leak testing?

Not sure if those #'s for the TPS and IAC are within specs, but if so then it's time to boost leak test.

When your reving you car up will you get alot of smoke? if you do its 100% boost leak its doing it because your burning more fuel then air because your computer its telling your injectors your getting a certin about of air when your not.. if your not getting really dark exaust then you have other issues

Not really once it starts up it has some smoke from the exhaust but once it warms up and the idle drops it goes away. Again its kinda hard to tell because once it gets warm if I rev it it just falls on its face. I'm gonna rip this alternator off and have it tested to see if this is whats wrong. When its running if i check the volts on the battery they are low i know they should be around 13-16 but they aren't they are at 12.1 so its obviously not getting charged but will the alternator cause it to die when revving and driving as long as I keep my foot into it and the rpms high its good but like I said when I push the clutch in to slow down she just dies.

im not trying to still your post but im having the same prob but i can put my hand infront of tha air box to restrict the flow and it will rev fine i move my hand and it will die like its geting to much air wich i thought was a good thing
