car just started whinning and has no boost

Okay, I really need some help. I was setting at the red light and when I started to go there was a loud whine that gets louder as the rpms got higher. The turbo will hit 1 psi of boost and that is it. It is almost like a super charger whine. I pulled the intake pipe and do not really feel a lot of shaft movement. All the inter-cooler pipes are tight. Is it the turbo?

I tried using seafoam on my car last weekend to help clean up my lifters (damn that ticking) and I was getting smogged under the hood almost as bad as the tailpipe was letting it out. Anyway the point is you may have some bad exhaust gaskets. My boost never gets about a few PSI either. I'm replacing my turbo next week along with the gaskets so hopefully I'll be happily boosting sometime next week.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I thought it was my turbo going out but it just ended up that my bov gasket was leaking.

it was my understanding that a turbo whining like a supercharger = turbo going out or gone?

I went to go spray down my bolts so that I would have an easy time takeing the turbo off tommorow and found out 2 of the bolts holding the turbo to the header were only on finger tight. Where's my boost been going
