Edmonton,
My car has a dealer warranty on it (bumper to bumper) so it doesn't really matter to me much, but I'm still curious... Anyways here goes: a couple days ago I parked my car in the garage until today, so I went to start it but my battery had went dead (I may or may not have left the lights on, I don't think I did... but anyways), so I boosted it this afternoon and drove it for awhile and then it just went dead. I still had power to the interior lights and everything, but it wouldn't turn over; so we boosted it again, and it would start fine with a boost but won't keep running. At first I thought it might be the alternator, but I STILL HAD POWER, so I wasn't losing battery power I don't think, but I also suspect it could be the fuel pump or something... Anyways, any ideas?

sounds like its just low voltage....ya can jump start a dsm and it will go a few miles and then stall out from having less than 12.5 volts...any less than 12.5 the ECU will shut off and so will the MPI relay shutt off due to too low of voltage......the lights inside the car will work though..just not enough to turn over the starter....pull out the battery and take it to an autozone or an advance autoparts or discount autoparts so ya can get it tested...if the battery is good make sure your terminals are clean and tight....if ya cant get then tight enough, especially the negative one the altanator will not keep it charged...take a mutimeter and touch it to the positive terminal of the battery while grounding the ground wire or what is the black wire off of the multimeter to one of the strut mounting bolts under the hood and try and see how much voltage ya have charging your battery...ya should have at least around 13.5 volts comming out of the altonator charging your battery......if all else fails and ya cant figure out how to test and see what the voltage is comming out the altonator while the car is running, just remove it from the car and take it down to one of them said before autoparts companys and get it tested....good luck bro...hope Im helping ya some.

Alright, I shall give that all a try... But small problem: no Autozone or anything around here, will Crappy Tire due? Also, what if I just swapped a new battery in, wouldn't that tell me if that's the problem awfully fast too?

P.S. That did help a lot!

Crappy Tire will due for free battary testing but they don't have maintenance free battaries. Go elsewhere to get one: Wal Mart, Active Green and Ross, Sears, Napa, Parts Source, etc.

Alright, excellent, I think you guys saved me a lot of time and money in trouble-shooting.
