Well when I first go to start my car up in the morning gas is spitting out of the muffler:notgood: With the high gas prices this is not good. As soon as the car is warmed up its still rich but is not spitting gas. So I went to the auto store today and got a new
o2 senor
coolant temp sensor
I hope this works! Any idea what could cause this?
thanks

Wow
I have to update my profile. I unrewired it because i thought the rewire was causing the problem. Nothing changed, the fpr could just be messed up then?
190, un re-wired, will still overrun the fpr. Get yourself a $25 filter mounted fuel gauge and report back the degree of overrun, I would just get an AFPR whether it's 190 or 255.

thanks oldman(rep points)
okay the car wasnt doing it before when I installed the pump. It started back when I throw the injectors and 2g maf in? I going to go to auto zone now and get a fpr gauge!

Hold up, did you just installed 2g mas and 550's without tuning/logging capabilities?

Yeah I did but this was during the winter! The car was sitting. I wasnt driving it LOL Before I started driving (this mouth I got a logger) I been had the safc before the combo!
Then the problem clearly points to a bad tune as well as some overrun which made the problem even bigger. If memory serves, 550 flows 22% more than 450s and 2g mas flows up to 33% more than 1g maf, people who said you can just install them are wrong.

Why the he double hockey sticks I cant give you rep points?

HEy oldman I was looking around and found that the nt fuel pressure regulator hold more pressure. Im NOT going any bigger than a small 16g, 550cc, and 190lph pump! PLease say the nt fuel pressure regulator will work. I WONT have anymore money until a couple of weeks.
thanks

Also read a colt 1.8 soch fuel pressure regulator will work!

FPR overrun isn't about how high of pressure the fpr can hold, it's actually exactly the opposite, it's about how low of pressure it can regulate. In short and simple terms, the return orfice on the stock fpr is too small and unable to bleed off the extra volume produced by a higher flow pump in order to maintain stock fuel pressure. I'm not familiar with the NT fpr so others will help to comment on that.

Let's talk about your tune, what are the safc adjustments? What are your low, mid and high fuel trim?

My low trims are 81.2, the mid are 88.9, and the high is 105.8. In order to get the low fuel trims to 100 I have to remove -23 on the safc. I did a boost leak test and replaced EVERY single gasket that pressure runs through.

In regards to the N/T FPR it raises your fuel to pressure to 37psi and would help a little with an overrun problem. You should figure out exactly what your problem is before you starting adding more mods and possibly compounding the problem though.

Does this happen only in the morning or everytime you start your car?

rpm knck tima o2-r idc ipw
2406 0 37 .82v 0.7 .76ms
3125 0 27 .83v 19.5 7.67ms
3656 0 24 .83v 33.5 11.00ms
4312 0 24 .83v 42.9 12.03ms
4656 0 23 .85v 50.0 13.05ms
5031 0 22 .85v 56.2 13.56ms
5656 0 25 .85v 62.5 13.31ms
6312 0 27 .85v 6.2 1.27ms
This was done at 10psi. All I did to the 2g maf was back the screw all the way out. Did nothing for righ idle!
thanks

Looking at your logs, it doesn't seem its running rich like your talking about, but your going to probally wait to see what Oldman says.

Yeah I dont understand it. When I first logged the car had up to 21 counts of knock. I made some adjustments to the safc and got rid of the know! At idle and crusing I have a Tad(very little sputtering if any). This makes me believe the o2 sensor is going. I just got a new
o2 sensor today. I will give an update in a couple of days.

I have some ideas but safc isn't really my thing so I have to do some more reading before I respond, it would also be helpful if you can post your complete safc settings, high and low. Don't worry, if I can't figure it out I will bring in some tuning backup. ;)

I dont know exactly how the 2g mas will change your setup, but I can tell you that I am running 550's and a 3" gm maf. My fuel settings on the low side start at -20%@1k and end up with -27%@7k with mysettings at 35 low and 80 high. With that setup my low trims stay real close to 100% while at idle and slow driving. Mid stays 96-98% and high is sitting at 101%.
