When ever I take off from my house or wherever, i go to turn and it feels like something is wrong with my AWD system. I was wondering if anyone elses has ever had these problems?

Is it engine or drivetrain? Ive never heard a driveline stuttering... maybe grinding.

Did you just buy the car? If so, it might have a welded diff.

I bought the car like 7 months ago. But It just recently started to do this? could it have anything to do with a computer? My speedometer dosn't work all of a sudden?

well could it be something with my lsd? I had my car towed because of my belt broke.... My car is AWD. With is the symptoms of a broken lsd and how hard is the fix?

If they towed the car with two wheels on the ground, chances are your center differential is blown, and perhaps your transfer case. I would like to see what the tow truck driver has to say...

The car is damaged if it was not towed on a flatbed with all 4 wheels off the ground.

The symptoms of a broken center diff or transfer case would be what you are having or worse -- when the broken spider gears finally bind up and all 4 wheels lock.

To fix this, you will want a lawyer, a good mechanic that is EXPERIENCED in DSM transmission rebuilds, and different towing company for the future.

The mechanic will need to remove your transmission, and rebuild it -- replacing the center differential, along with a new transfer case. Your rear end should also be checked, along with your tires for flatspots (where they were dragging).

Expect a decent bill.

Good luck,

Tim Zimmer

Why does tow company owe him a driveline? If the owner himself doesn't know that the car needs to be flatbedded is the tow truck driver supposed to know?

Unless you told the truck driver that your car is awd and must be flatbedded I don't think he's at fault here. The only external difference between awd and fwd is a decal.

If you are the tow truck driver, I think that you should be able to recognize the DRIVESHAFT AND REAR END, along with FRONT AXLES. Any decent driver will see these things before attaching the hooks -- especially since the front hookup points are on the frame rails behind the front wheels using I-hooks -- right next to the area of the transfer case and driveshaft.

The owner of the car should of also had to give the vehicle information to the tow truck operator prior to pickup stating that it was an Eclipse GSX with AWD.

I'M not sure if they used a flat bed or not, my belt broke when i was goin to work and my mother called for it to be towed and fixed. Right when i picked it up the ABS light was on. He took it out for a drive and the light was off? So worse comes to worse i need a new transmision?

When a tow company arrives, they should ask if it's FWD, AWD, or RWD. Unless you give them a clear cut answer, they will either look under the car or they will flatbed/dolly the car. If they do not, they are liable for the damages.

Worse case scenario:

You need new AWD transmission, transfer case, and rear differential (entire drivetrain ruined). Hey at least your engine is OK! Oh wait nevermind you have a 7 bolt =)
