Car feels like its sputtering, dying like it needs gas, but theres still gas in it

Okay well I was driving up a small incline, wasn't really an incline, but my gsx started to drive like it was out of gas, kind of scary, but i stil had about quarter tank. It was about 90 degree outside. I was wondering why it was sputtering or choking of gas.

Also I think I have a boost leak, cause that be the cause of the choking?

My cars stock right now, except for a greddy RS BOV, should i upgrade to a walbro255 fuel pump/ supra fuel pump?
 
Fix the boost leak,and check out the fuel filter. Also it wouldnt hurt to check your plugs,wires and what not, you should also check your timing too.

If your cars basically stock theres really no need for a 255.

I would say upgrade the pump, but not before getting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. No, its not needed...but since when is upgrading performance needed? I dont think you have to get an AFC if you dont upgrade the injectors, but Id do it anyways for good measure.
 
No, you dont need an afc with just a pump. But if he didnt want to go with a 255 and afpr, he could get a 190 with a rewire kit. That supports something like 400hp or so and no need for a afpr:dsm:
 
In my 2g AWD I have hit fuel cut a few times when my gas was somewhat low on a hill. However the other day my gas light was on and my car died going up an extremely steep hill. How high of rpms were you at?

i was only at like 2-4max

How can I check the fuel filter? And how can my timing be messed up if im all stock?
