Car Dies when brake is pressed and lights are goin haywire!!

Just got my first dsm 97 gst !!
Well I was driving and went to get a new flexpipe welded in and my carwouldnt start after.

So I jump started it and after driving all the lights go dim and car dies when I press the brake Also I noticed that my Greddy EBC is goin on and off . The radio works and dies and its just going nuts!!

So I stalled again when I came to a stop using the brakes. I jumped it and got home goin 10mph! When I gave it gas it boggs and stutters.

Any help I would appreciate it!! I got the car cheap but needed work. I also just put in new plugs and wires!!

Either your battery is bad or your alternator is bad. I went through 4 alternators so far, and that is the exact same thing my car did until I changed the alt. Good luck!

Is your battery clamped down tight?

Ground wires in good condition?

Did you unplug the alternator/unhook the battery when you were welding? Were you arc welding? That might have ruined your alternator or battery.

Agreed, battery should have been unhooked and welder properly grounded.

I got the welding doneby a shop. Also now after the car only starting with jump starts. The car is making loud knocking sound like the rod hitting something???????

So I shut the car off and now any suggestions on what to do next? Im goin to check my ecu to see maybe it fried?

I would recommend to have a shop look at it as it could be a variety of things. To me it sounds to be a bad battery, terminals, alternator, or some positive wiring grounding out on the body somewhere.
