So today my car started up fine and i went up to the top of a mountain to meet some friends (paved road). Well when i tried starting my car up there it started barely got above 1000RPM then went way down and died. Did this 2 more times till i added a bit of gas as it started then it idled fine. I drove it home and while driving home my Check engine light came on, so i pulled over then it turned off so i went to my buddys house who always works on my car with me and theres a rapid clicking noise above my intake manifold. So we turned the car off and started and it did the same thing and died. I don't know whats going on we think its an injector going out. Please help.

adjust the BISS screw and try to check the BOV for any leakage it sound like the idle valve has gone bad

good luck

Ok thanks. Im taking it to get it scanned today. How hard would it be to replace an idle valve on my own? I go to a place with just about any tool to my disposal and instructors to help.

So we tested my car. Nothing really came up except for the coolant sensor had an error but is fine now. So we got a hypothesis that it was the idle air controller, so we unplugged it then started the car and it ran the same and plugged it back in while the car was running and nothing changed. So we came to a conclusion that this might be the problem. Any other possibilities???

We installed a new ISC motor (which was bad) and my car was having rough idles so we gave it some gas then it started idleing correctly. Though we wanted higher RPM to see if it would stay and so i put it up to about 4.5k RPM and then the idle returned to about 600. On cold starts with the new ISC motor still has very low idles and sometimes dies when i come to a stop. Could this be caused by putting the ISC motor gasket on wrong or is something else wrong?

Well.... I am stumped. Ive put a new ECU in and same problem, new ISC (as said above), changed out spark plugs (old ones not good for turbo cars), and disconnected my amp to my subwoofer and im still having this problem though its gotten worse. If i could get a diagram that shows exactly where the BISS screw is that would be great. Though one question, could the throttle cable loosen if i push push the gas pedal down far repetitively? I had to do that when going up the mountain. Also could i get a diagram where the idle valve would be? I'm currently thinking my ignition coils might be bad though if thats not the case this information would be great. Thanks.

Yes, there are no boost leaks. Although we adjusted the screw and it idles at 950rpm when almost all of the way warmed up. Close to normal when i first got the car. We are going to wait till tomorrow morning to see if it goes to the 1500 RPM it did on a cold start. But atleast now when the idle drops it doesnt plummet and die. Thanks for the link.
