ok, i had to go into town to day so i got in my car and took off. it drove fine for the hour and a half of driving i did. so i go home shut it off and go inside and not even 10 minutes later i had to leave again. so i hop in it and it start and idels fine. i put it into drive and hit the gas (BARELY) and it dies. i start it right back up and this time for curiosity i hit the gas in neutral and it dies again by barely hitting the gas, so i know it has nothing to do with being under load. i start it one more time to just see what my a/f readings are and at idle its a good 14.7-14.9 and barely hitting the gas again it instanly goes all the way lean and dies. does anyone have a clue why my car doing this when it ran/drove fine and hour and half ago. thanks.

Sounds like the fuel pump went bye bye.:toobad: Time for an upgrade.

EDIT: Sorry. I just looked at your profile and you already have a 255, but it still sounds like you'll be needing a new one.

no vaccum leaks, i think it the tps since im not getting any voltage. ill keep u guys posted

ONce this happend to me. Car died. It would start up but when I gave it some throttle, it would die. I found out I was out of gas. Stupid mistake. My gas meter was broke and I forgot about it being broken.

well fellas hears an update. i get in the car today and try to start it and it wont start. i pull the 3"maf off and it starts and runs rich of course. for some odd reason i got the idea to blow into the maf and with me just blowing into it, it killed the car instantly. i thought maybe maf went bad so changed it with a know good one and changed tps with a good one also. still the same exact thing. any ideas people.

You talking about the GM maf that you took off? After you took the 3in maf off and it started, did it start with the stock maf back on? Your words are confusing.

i changed it with a known good GM maf. i think the computers bad AGAIN. i can change anything on the maft and it will not change anything about the car and how it runs and plus im getting a constint code 13. any other ideas people

this may be a stupid ?, when with wiring the maft straight into the ecu could it be causing problems with the ecu because i can disconnect the ground wiring from the maft and hook it to a ground on the car and it runs better. im stumpt

Does grounding it to the car just make it run better or did that correct the problem? Also I was wondering if you ever looked into your ecu? My Talon was running crappy and then one day I just couldn't start it up anymore. After I changed the caps in my ecu, it started up again.

i do thinks its the ecu, but its not the caps. i cant open it due to it being under warrentee. im going to send it back to the company where i got it from and have then diagnose the problem to see ifs it the ecu. ill keep u updated and let you know if thats the problem.

dont use a gm maf sensor even though people say its free horsepower, no its more problems, GM MAFS ARE JUNK! JUNK ! JUNK JUNK JUNK AND JUNK. HIT THE ####ING THING WITH A HAMMER. might fix the problem or did you try an ignition control module?

The closed throttle sensor could be causing a problem, as well as the mass air flow sensor.

I had the closed throttle switch go bad on one of mine once and had the same symptoms. Just try unplugging it... it may not idle but if it's driveable after you got you answer. It's the single wire plug on back side of the throttle body. :dsm:

i want a blow thru setup though and i havent checked ignition control module yet. i also have checked the closed throttle sensor and it doesnt make a difference

What's wrong with the GM MAF? It's great. I loved it. I had no problems with it. My Talon was never as powerful as it was when I had my GM MAF on it. Well I sold it so I don't use it anymore.

im going to try these things to see if that fixes the problem as i bought the car used so i really have no clue what has been replace or what not. thanks.

I'm surprised no one thought of this one but it sounds to me like you have debris in your fuel system. Try cleaning that out and see what happens.
